Currencies, commodities, ETFs and indices squarified chart (treemap)

How to read this squarified chart (treemap)

This squarified chart (a treemap) shows the traditional markets next to crypto: about 50 currency pairs (EUR/USD, USD/JPY, ...), commodities (gold, silver, crude oil, natural gas, ...), US sector ETFs and stock indices (S&P 500, Nasdaq, Dow Jones, DAX, FTSE 100, VIX, US Dollar Index) with their price change.

Every tile is one instrument, grouped by category (indices, currencies, commodities, ETFs). The color shows the price change in the selected interval (green = up, red = down, a stronger color means a bigger move), the area is the square root of the turnover (traded volume times the price), limited to a narrow range around the median so that no instrument disappears or dominates. Currency pairs and some indices report no volume: they get the median size.

The prices come from Yahoo Finance and are updated every ten minutes. Exchange traded instruments rest at night and on weekends, so their last known price is compared.
